St. Peter Catholic School’s Extended Day Program provides quality care for children. Extended Day Program is a safe, caring, supervised environment for students who need care before and after regular school hours. Extended Day is a place where creative and recreational activities are encouraged.
The administration and staff are qualified, trained, and caring individuals dedicated to providing developmentally appropriate activities. Our goal is to promote cooperation and understanding between parents and staff and to create a positive, safe environment for your child in a Catholic atmosphere. We work for the safety and happiness of the group while fostering the individual potential of each child.
This program supports the mission of St. Peter Catholic School to form students into critical thinkers, virtuous leaders, and living saints.
The Extended Day Program is located in the School on the first floor. Access to the Extended Day via the front door of school door W1 for drop off and pick up. Ring the doorbell for entrance.
Admissions: School age children (Preschool through 8th grade)
Enrollment: Online registration, Non-refundable registration fee
If you plan to change your scheduled care or withdraw from the program, provide two weeks notice prior to the date of withdrawal or change. If we do not receive notification two weeks prior, you will continue to be billed for registered sessions. (Link to Extended Day Schedule Change Request Form)
There is a $50 withdrawal fee to withdraw from the program. There is a $25 change fee to change your family’s scheduled care. A family’s first change fee will be waived, but the fee would apply for any additional change requests.
Tuition is billed through your family’s TADS account.
Late Pick-Up - Failure to pick-up a child by 5 pm will result in a late fee of $1.00 per minute.
Our priority is to keep your child safe. The Extended Day program will not release your child to anyone who is not listed as authorized to remove the child from the facilities. If there will be a change in the transportation arrangements for your child, notify us prior to the day of care and have that person provide identification.
Our staff is mandated by law to report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect.
Staff is prepared to handle emergencies safely and effectively. Health protection methods are in place. Emergency numbers are available and posted by the Extended Day phone.
If your child is injured at Extended Day Program, parents will receive either a written or verbal student injury report from staff. If a serious injury occurs, parents or emergency contacts will be notified immediately and/or 911 will be called.
In case of a natural or man-made disaster, the children will be moved to an area of safety determined by the St. Peter School disaster plan.
Fire: In the case of a fire, the staff will follow the fire evacuation route posted. The staff will move children to a safe distance on the east end of campus.
Severe Weather: In the case of severe weather, the staff will follow the posted guidance. If necessary, staff and students will seek shelter in the tunnel between the rectory and the cafeteria until the warnings have expired.
Children should be kept at home if they have the following conditions:
Any child with a temperature above 100 who is unable to participate in daily activities must stay at home until they are in good health. A child that is sent home with a temperature or vomiting must be free of symptoms for 24 hours without medications before they can return.
For the health and safety of all children and staff, families will be called to pick up their child immediately if they show any symptoms related to the list above. Parents will be notified if there are any reports of exposure to communicable diseases within the program.
A Complete Authorization of Administration of Medication at School Form must be on file.
Behavior - Guidance
We expect virtuous behavior for all children at all times.
Expectations include: Respect self, other students, staff and property.
In the event that a child demonstrates a lack of virtue, the following steps will be taken:
A verbal reminder of appropriate behavior.
A second verbal reminder and a short separation from the activity to reflect.
Loss of privilege.
If poor decisions / lack of virtue continues, the school principal and parents will be notified.
Every child is expected to abide by the rules of the Extended Day Care Program. Our goal is to help the children learn to be self-disciplined by setting rules and guidelines. We must ensure the safety of all the children in our care. If a child compromises the safety of other children by requiring one-on-one care, the parent will be contacted to pick up their child.
